Commencement of gold smelting work in the chapel

Turnaround: The work of smelting the gold donated by the devotees at the Madappuram Bhadrakaliamman temple started yesterday.

Madappuram Bhadrakaliamman Temple is one of the famous Kali temples in Tamil Nadu. Out of the nine bills here, the offerings of the devotees, including gold and silver, are counted every two months and only the gold items are stored in the safe. After the gold chariot was made in 2015, 14 kg and 70 grams of gold jewelery were in stock with the rest of the gold.

The melting work began in the presence of Sivagangai Charitable Trusts Associate Commissioner Palanikumar, Deputy Commissioner (Jewelry Verification) Sivarajkumar, Madappuram Executive Officer Vilvamurthy, Accountant Pushparaj, Board of Trustees Chairman Palaniappan, members Baskaran and Shanmugavel, led by retired Judge Mala. The gold jewelery is to be converted into nuggets and sent to the State Bank treasury in Mumbai. The temple was heavily guarded as the offering gold jewelery melted down.
