Kozhikode: Former minister T Sivadasa Menon passes away He was 90 years old. He died at a private hospital in Kozhikode. He was undergoing treatment for congenital diseases of old age. He has been staying at his daughter’s house in Manjeri for a long time. The senior communist leader of the state resigned. Sivadasa Menon was a long time member of the CPM state secretariat.
Although presently in Malappuram district, Sivadasa Menon’s constituency was Palakkad. The political entry was from the land of Nellara. In this he became a minister twice. He has won the Malampuzha constituency three times in a row. He has held important portfolios in two Nayanar Ministries. When he first entered the church in 1987, he was fortunate enough to become a minister. In the EK Nayanar cabinet of 1987, he handled the power and rural development department. He later became the Finance Minister in 1996.

T Sivadasa Menon was born on June 14, 1932. His strict involvement in organizing teachers’ unions in the state led to his political entry. He was earlier a teacher at KTM High School in Mannarkkad and later worked as the headmaster of the school. It was then that he entered active politics. He was also a member of the Kerala State Education Advisory Committee and the Syndicate of Calicut University. He was the Malabar Regional President of the Kerala Private Teachers Federation and later the General Secretary of the Kerala Private Teachers Union (KPTU). T.K. Bhavani is the wife. Lakshmi Devi and Kalyani are children.
