U.S. Court of Appeals Ruling: Epstein’s Madame’s Punishment

by time news

A federal court in Manhattan today (Tuesday) sentenced Jailine Maxwell, 60, to 20 years in prison after she was convicted of trafficking in a minor for sexual purposes and other charges of abusing a minor, related to tycoon Jeffrey Epstein.

The judge said while reading the Hagin carrot that “Maxwell was not punished for being Epstein’s emissary, but for her role in the crime. She participated in the exploitation. Her conduct was predatory and abominable,” the judge said. She added that “a significant sentence will send an explicit and clear message.”

Last week, Maxwell’s lawyers asked the court to impose a reduced sentence ranging from four years and three months to five years and three months. Their claim was that her difficult childhood and her domineering father made her connect with Epstein and be subject to him.
