Mandatory CCTV in school vehicles – Government of Tamil Nadu order

by time news
The Tamil Nadu government has ordered schools to install CCTV cameras in school vehicles.

Dixit, a second class student of a private school in Alwarkurichi, Chennai, was killed in a school van accident last March. The student fell and died when the driver moved the van back to the parking lot while trying to retrieve the forgotten item in the van.

This has strengthened the demand for safety features in school vehicles. In this context, the Government of Tamil Nadu has amended the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Act, 2012. Accordingly, it is advisable to fit a CCTV camera on the front of all school buses.
