«The European “Beating Cancer” plan consists of creating a “tobacco-free generation” where less than 5% of the population will use tobacco by 2040” according to the European Commission.

The European Commission proposed on Wednesday to ban the sale of flavored vaping products in the 27 EU countries in order to curb this practice which is developing especially among young people.

The idea is to introduce stricter legislation to discourage smoking, including with electronic cigarettes. “Nine out of ten lung cancers are caused by tobacco, we want to make smoking as unattractive as possible to protect the health of our citizens and save lives“, justified in a press release the European Commissioner for Health, Stella Kyriakides.
