Volkswagen has unveiled the IDAIRO electric sedan in concept form. This will be the flagship ID of this German automaker. The model will face the BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3.
The latest Volkswagen IDAero electric sedan has made its world premiere in China. That would be the ID of this German car manufacturer. These are the family leaders in the global portfolio. Volkswagen says it will be positioning its first fully electric sedan in the premium mid-size segment. In addition, the production version of ID.Aero for the Chinese market is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2023.
Volkswagen plans to begin production of a European series version in Emden in 2023. Gradually, this full-electric four-door production model of sedan will be offered worldwide in the future. New Volkswagen ID. Aero is the sixth member of the ID. Family after ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.6, and the iconic ID bus.

The concept version of the ID.Aero is about five meters long and the company claims that its design is based on aerodynamic principles. ID. Aero is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB (Modular Electric Drive Matrix) architecture. This flexible modular platform can be adapted for many vehicles ranging from hatchbacks to ID.
The upcoming Volkswagen IDAero will get a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will offer 620 km WLTP-certified range on a single charge. When launched, this electric sedan will compete with the BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3.
