Saudi Arabia warns of stern action against unauthorized pilgrims

Mecca: Saudi Arabia has warned that it will crack down on those who perform Hajj without permission. Brigadier General Sami al-Shuwairekh, a spokesman for Public Security, said those caught would be fined 10,000 riyals.

He advised all citizens and residents to follow the instructions related to Hajj. He warned that security personnel were checking all roads, corridors and entrances to shrines to control violators and impose fines on them.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has released an electronic guide for Hajj pilgrims. The electronic guide was released by the National Weather Service. An electronic guide with weather information has been published in Arabic, English, Urdu and French. The guide includes current and expected weather information for Makkah and Madinah during the Hajj season. The guide also provides information on rainfall, temperature, humidity and wind.
