American singer Robert Kelly sentenced to 30 years in prison for sex crime The case against Kelly alleges that he sexually abused young women and teenage girls. The court found Kelly guilty of all nine charges against him. The court found that Kelly had abused his popularity (Kelly).
The charges against Kelly include sexually abusing girls and women with promises, being the leader of a sex racketeering group and threatening victims. Judge R. Donnelly handed down the sentence after hearing the statements of several survivors of Kelly’s exploitation.
Kelly had previously filed sexual and harassment complaints but did not appear in court. The case was registered after a documentary titled ‘Surviving R Kelly’ aired on a private channel. Kelly was on the scene with his ex-wife.
Most of the complainants against Kelly are black women. A total of 45 witnesses testified in court against Kelly. Of these, 11 are victims of Kelly’s exploitation. Kelly will face another trial, which begins Aug. 15 in Chicago.
