The 86-year-old is thinking about quitting. But he is planning at least one more film, he said in an interview.

New York.

The US director Woody Allen fueled speculation about the possible end of his career with an interview.

“I’ll probably do at least one more film,” the 86-year-old said in a conversation with actor Alec Baldwin, 64, published on his Instagram account on Tuesday. “But a lot of the thrill is gone.”

His films used to be shown in cinemas “all over the country”. “Now you shoot a movie and it’s in a theater for a couple of weeks. Maybe six or four weeks and then it goes straight to streaming or pay-per-view.” It’s not the same and doesn’t make him as happy. “I don’t know what I think of filmmaking. I’ll do another one and see how it feels.” In the fall he was filming in Paris.

Baldwin announced the interview with the director on Instagram two days earlier. “Let me start by saying that I have no interest in the judgments and hypocritical contributions of others here,” he wrote. “If you think a trial should take the form of an HBO documentary, then that’s your problem.” In 2021, the HBO docuseries “Allen v. Farrow” addressed allegations of abuse by Allen’s adopted daughter Dylan Farrow against him.

Farrow accuses Allen of sexually harassing her in the early ’90s. Allen denies that. In the almost hour-long interview, Baldwin, who worked with Allen on three films, did not address the issue. (dpa)
