The owner of Maccabi Netanya, Eyal Segal, published a post today (Thursday) in which he told about what has been happening at the club recently. The Diamonds have built a very strong roster and after a successful season that ended with fourth place and a ticket to Europe, they are aiming even higher.
Segal wrote: “Dear fans – June is behind us and with it, most of the preparations for the 22/23 season, in recent months we have concentrated on maintaining the existing and making adjustments and refreshes in some positions – hoping to upgrade our strength on the field. And we will be attentive as always to any requirement that arises from the professional staff.
“Bnei Lem’s call during the season for a wall and later for a yellow bow, was answered by thousands of spectators who returned to the pitches and in addition to a new and exciting young crowd that began to visit the Diamond Stadium.
Segal continued: “In February 2020, I announced my intention to step aside and allow others to lead the club. But as they said before, ‘Man plans and God laughs’, the Corona plague devoured the cards. Cohen has headed the professional side as ‘Sports Director’, I can go back to the original plan:
1. To step aside and concentrate on building the next generation of which we already enjoy the adult group, hoping for a future based on local produce.
2. To be part of the leading forum in the administration of the Football League, with the intention of making an impact.
