Manama: The Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has stepped up inspections to detect illegal workers in the country. An inspection of the Southern Governorate the previous day found several violations. The LMRA said it had taken legal action against them. The inspections were carried out at various workplaces in collaboration with the Nationality, Passports and Residents Affairs (NPRA) and the Southern Governorate Directorate under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

LMRA officials said the inspection was part of efforts to improve the work environment by eliminating illegal employment practices. The public was asked to report any violations of labor laws.
