New York ∙ Literary writer Raju Mailapra has been nominated as the chairperson of the FOCANA Convention to be held in Orlando, Florida from July 7 to 10, President Georgi Varghese announced on behalf of the committee.
Fokana Vice President Thomas Thomas and Executive Vice President Jaybu Mathew are the coordinators. From the first Fokana Chiriyrang that was staged at the Toronto Convention in Canada in 1994 to the Florida Convention in 2006, Raju Mylapra has been at the helm of the Chiriyyrang continuously.
Raju Mailapra, who has won several literary awards, is well-known to Malayalam Americans for his humorous essays. Phocana President Georgi Varghese said he is delighted to welcome Raju Mailapra after a hiatus to the Chiriyarang stage, which attracts many people at Phocana conventions.
