Hyundai reported a 21% growth in car sales last month. But exports fell by 4.5%. South Korea-based Hyundai is India’s second largest car company.
The company sold 62,351 units last month. This is a growth of 14.5%. Hyundai sold 54,474 units last month.
It has grown by 14.5% over last year’s sales. Out of this total of 62,351 units, 49,001 units were sold in India alone. This is a 21% growth over last year’s sales. This is a growth of 15.9% over last month’s sales.
Honda
Japan’s Honda sold 10,336 units last month. It has sold 7,834 units in India alone.
This is a 4.3% sales decline from last May’s sales. But it is a growth of 64.3% over last year’s sales. Honda exported 2,502 units last June.
This is a growth of 23.1%. It is noteworthy that in June 2021, Honda exported only 1,241 units. This is a growth of 101.6%.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen sold 21,588 units in India last June. This is more than 2 times the sales of last year.
Volkswagen launched its 2.0 program in India with the cars Tigun and Virtus which have been hugely popular among the people and have helped the company’s growth a lot.
The company sold 21,588 units last June. This is a 101% growth over last year’s sales. Last year it sold only 10,843 units.
Mahindra Auto
Mahindra sold 26,880 units in India last month. The same company sold 16,913 units in the same month last year.
SUV sales alone have grown by 60%. The recent launch of the XUV 700 and Scorpio has given the company a huge boost in growth.
Tata Motors
Tata sold 45,197 units last month in India. Of this, 3507 units are electric cars. This is an 87% growth over last year’s sales.
This is a 4% growth compared to last May’s sales. It sold 1,857 units more than last May’s sales.
Maruti Suzuki
India’s largest car company Maruti Suzuki sold 1,55,857 units last month. This was a 3.4% decline from May’s sales. But it has grown by 5.8% over last year’s sales.
It had sold 1,47,368 units in the same month last year in 2021. Maruti sold 1,61,413 units last May.
MG Motors
MG sold 4,503 units last month. The same company had sold 4,008 units last May. This is a growth of 12.35%.
