Aged mother who went to Dhanushkodi dies
It is reported that Parameshwari, an elderly couple, who had gone to Dhanushkodi by boat from Sri Lanka, has died.
An elderly couple who had gone to Dhanushkodi by boat from Sri Lanka on the morning of Monday 27th of last month, were recovered lying unconscious on the beach and were admitted to Ramanathapuram District Government Medical College Hospital and were being given intensive treatment.
It is reported that Parameshwari, an elderly mother of the said elderly couple, died yesterday (2) Saturday night without treatment.
Background of the incident
Parameswari and Sivan, an elderly couple from Murungan Pitti area of Mannar, went to Dhanushkodi by boat from Sri Lanka on 27th of last month.
In this situation, both of them were rescued on the beach in an unconscious state and were admitted to the Ramanathapuram District Government Medical College Hospital and are undergoing intensive treatment.
District Governor John Tom Varghese personally visited the two under medical treatment and advised them to undergo necessary medical treatment.
As the condition of both of them is very bad, he referred them to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital.
In this situation, it is reported that Parameshwari, an elderly couple who was receiving treatment at Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital, died yesterday (2) Saturday night.
Due to severe economic crisis in Sri Lanka, more than 85 people have gone to Tamil Nadu as refugees so far.
