Puducherry: Puducherry Municipality has insisted that the Puducherry Municipality should abandon its decision to regulate shops. A survey by the municipal officials revealed that most of the shops are leased out and rented out.

To discuss this, an emergency meeting of the Periya Market All Traders Association was held yesterday at Chettiar Wedding Hall in Vadamughat. Traders have been severely affected during the Corona period. So the decision to regulate municipal shops should be abandoned.

Fees for regulating shops are fixed in multiples. A resolution was passed insisting that the draft rules should be openly displayed to the municipal shopkeepers and the opinions of all the MLAs should be heard. It was also decided to hold a protest against the decision of the municipality.
