What to see tonight: The series to celebrate the 4th of July without celebrating

by time news

You probably did not see the “Americans.” Far too many people have not seen the “Americans.” The FX monumental series, which easily ranks in the top 5 of the last decade, has spent six seasons under the radar of many viewers simply because it was not broadcast on one of the premium platforms (HBO, etc.) and therefore did not receive the credit it very much deserves. So give it to her now in honor of July 4th: This is one of the best series ever created and if you have not seen her then this is an educated guy who must be filled.

The series was created by Joe Weisberg, a talented man and former CIA agent who came out of nowhere (before which he wrote a few episodes in the Spielberg MDA series “Falling Skies”) and has not created any more series since the “Americans” ended in 2018. The series follows a couple Dormant Russian spies (Kerry Russell and Matthew Rice in their life roles) in the heyday of the Cold War (1981-1987), who run their lives as Americans for everything and raise their American children, until they are commanded to wake up and act and survive unbearable chaos, drama and unfolding tension Over six seasons and 75 episodes.

The mythology of the series says that Weisberg got the idea for the series during his admission interview with the CIA, when asked if he was trying to get accepted into the organization to gain knowledge that would help him write a fictional work based on it, and at that moment Weisberg realized it was not a bad idea at all. His experience in the CIA contributed several plot lines to the series and a great deal of realism that received praise from every possible TV critic. The average of its six seasons on the Rotten Tomatoes website stands at 96 percent in 261 reviews, which is definitely indicative of its unimaginable quality. Oh, yes, and Happy 4th of July!
