A 42-year-old woman who is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Polonnaruwa Lankapura Divisional Secretariat was hacked to death in her house.
Pulastipura police said that the incident was reported at 2.30 am today and the dead body was recovered from a room of his two-storied house.
