New Zealand Women’s Team

The New Zealand Cricket Board has announced that it will pay equal wages to male and female players playing for the New Zealand team.

Although cricket games are played in two divisions, men’s and women’s, there are many differences in pay. Players who play in the men’s division are usually paid more. Due to this, demands were made for many years that both parties should be paid equally.

Subsequently, the New Zealand Cricket Board has offered to pay equal wages to male and female players. Accordingly, the New Zealand men’s and women’s teams playing in Test matches will receive Rs. 5 lakh (NZ$10,250) each for ODI cricket and 1.95 lakh (NZ$4,000) each and 1.22 lakh (NZ$2,500) each for T20 cricket has announced.

The highest-ranked player in the contract will get Rs. 79.74 lakh (NZ$163,246) as salary. But this amount is higher in men’s category. The highest ranking player will get Rs. 2.56 crore (NZ$523,396). The new procedure will come into effect from August 1.

Many have praised the New Zealand Cricket Board for their decision to pay equal wages to both the men’s and women’s teams.
