Home delivery, firefighting… The drones developed in Brétigny will change our daily lives

On the take-off runway of the former Brétigny-sur-Orge air base (Essonne), all eyes are on a small drone on the ground. At the start signal, the propellers turn on. The machine pulls itself out of the ground at breakneck speed and settles into a hover, in a handful of seconds, at an altitude of 38 meters. In the distance, a fire has just broken out in a building, materialized by blue smoke. Using sophisticated cameras, the reconnaissance drone will analyze the disaster to give the firefighters a first glimpse.
