An SMS message received this evening (Tuesday) by many citizens on the mobile phone, which is awaiting a message from the police – managed to frighten many until it turned out to be a complete pike.
“This is a security warning !!”, reads a message received under the name “POLISE”. “There is a possibility of a terrorist attack at a wine celebration. Please stay home.”
The police updated that false messages had been distributed in her name and that no reference should be made to what was said in these messages.
“In recent hours, we have witnessed the spread of false messages on behalf of the Israel Police that warn of a security incident in various areas around the country and even call on the public to stay indoors,” the police statement said.
The police also said: “We call on the public to rely solely on information originating from the official platforms of the Israel Police. We also ask the public to refrain from chaining messages whose origin is unknown.”
