Four people who tried to cross into Australia illegally from Sri Lanka were arrested.
Last night, the Military Intelligence Unit arrested four people who were trying to go to Australia from Sri Lanka at the beach area of Nalwarthurai.
People from Trincomalee, Vavuniya and Pudu residential areas who tried to go to Australia illegally by boat have been arrested.
It has been revealed in the preliminary investigation that each of them paid Rs 2 lakh each to the boat and tried to go to Australia. The Valvetturat police have conducted an investigation into the incident.
