The duet of Avitabile and Antonacci in ‘My facts’

by time news

An unreleased duet full of groove is about to land on the radio, it’s ‘Fatti mie’ by Enzo Avitabile and Biagio Antonacci who wrote it especially for him. Between Italian and Neapolitan, ‘Fatti mie’ is the meeting of two voices that praise sincerity and anticipates the new recording project by Enzo Avitabile, made up of encounters and contaminations, whose publication is scheduled for September (album produced by the label Black Tarantella by the Neapolitan artist and distributed by Believe).

‘We were crazy / or just musicians / maybe crazy artists / deluded by applause’ sing the two artists in a song that could not end except in Neapolitan: “Hey / song sulo my business / sarrà ‘na malatia / song sulo my business / I say ‘na bucia / it will be’ na malatia / song about my business “.

” In 1983 ‘Meglio soul’ was released, an incredible album by Enzo, a musician, a singer-songwriter of rare talent ‘- he says Antonacci explaining where the collaboration between the two songwriters came from – It was an album arranged by great musicians, born and produced in a wonderful city, Naples, which has always loved the crowd. That album was for me (who, at the time, was a 20-year-old boy who played drums and dreamed of singing) a real inspiration. In that record there was the melody, the drums, everything that was needed to make my dream of doing this beautiful job grow ”.

When Enzo called me asking me for a song for his new album – continues Antonacci – I was very happy e I wrote this piece straight away, immediately after closing the phone: text and music in 10 minutes! Enzo then intervened by writing a part of the text in Neapolitan. ‘My facts’ is the result of our artistic encounter and it is not a selfish phrase, nor a closing one, but it is an opening to sincerity. Enzo and I are dreamy musicians and we believe that music can keep people company, it will never solve their problems, but it can certainly be a moment of reflection and leisure at the same time ”.
