On Thursday, the city police registered a case against 5 people for preventing the police from working in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district.
In the Anith Thirumanjana darshan ceremony of Nataraja temple near Chitambaram, Govi.Manivannan, Rajmohan and others tried to give alms to the public in an area that was denied alms near Porkourai in the temple. At that time, City Police Inspector Arumugam informed that alms should not be given in that area and it was an area where permission to give alms was denied.
Enraged by this, Kovi Manivannan and others scolded Police Inspector Arumuga and got into an argument. Subsequently, the police removed them from there.
Based on the complaint filed by Chidambaram village administration officer Basak, Chidambaram city police have registered a case against 5 persons including Kovi Manivannan and Rajmohan.
