Volodin: the State Duma will be renewed by half

The composition of the State Duma of the VIII convocation will differ by 48.5% from the previous one, said the speaker of the lower house of parliament Vyacheslav Volodin. According to him, the trend in the renovation is set by United Russia. “Of the 450 deputies, 51.5% were deputies by the time the seventh convocation was completed,” Mr. Volodin told reporters (quoted by TASS). He added that 232 deputies were again in the State Duma. Thus, new faces in the State Duma 48.5%. Earlier it became known that in the State Duma of the VIII convocation half of the faction of “United Russia” will be replaced. Elections in Russia were held from 17 to 19 September. In addition to State Duma deputies, Russians elected members of local parliaments, municipal authorities and heads of several regions.
