Pollachi: Due to lack of drainage facilities on the road in Pollachi, Govindanur, rainwater entered the houses and people lost their peace of mind. The road was widened two years ago on the Pollachi-Nadupuni road in the Govindanur area. However, the highway department has completed the work negligently without providing proper drainage facilities. Due to this, during the rainy season, the water accumulates in the area and looks like a pond. At present, due to heavy rains in the Pollachi area, rainwater has accumulated on the road at many places. People are suffering as Rotoram near Govindanur has stagnated like a rainwater pond.
Due to lack of drainage, stagnant water seeps into houses. People are suffering because they are not able to drain the rainwater. Despite many complaints from the people, the Highways Department and Puravipalayam Panchayat are not taking any action and are indifferent. Due to this, people are dissatisfied.
