The UAV launched at the shark rig off the coast of Lebanon was shot down in Israel’s territorial waters. And now it is in the hands of the defense establishment, locating it helps investigate the UAV interception incident over the rig, and in particular the identification of Iranian fingerprints in the incident.
Last Saturday, the IDF intercepted three UAVs launched from Lebanon and flew in the direction of Israel’s economic waters. The interception of one of the vessels was carried out by an F16 “Barak” aircraft and two others were intercepted using Barak missiles from the Navy’s “Achi Eilat” missile ship. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the launch and claimed it was carried out for intelligence purposes. The organization stressed that “the required tasks have been completed and the message has been conveyed.”

It was reported this week that the IDF thwarted another UAV last week sent by the terrorist organization Hezbollah from Lebanon. Last Wednesday, IDF detection systems identified an unmanned aircraft on its way from Lebanon, to Israel’s economic waters and to a shark reservoir, and the IDF shot it down.
