Attack on Journalist – Swift action

Three key officers of the Special Task Force have been suspended after reporting that four journalists were attacked near Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s residence.

Three other officers of the Police Special Task Force, including Romesh Lienake, have been immediately suspended.

The Chief of Police has said that strict disciplinary action will be taken against the concerned officials.

It is noteworthy that the police spokesperson had earlier informed that the Director General of Police has ordered strict action against those involved in the attack.
