Director Mani Ratnam is filming Ponni’s Selvan story, a famous historical novel written by writer Kalki. Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Jayaram, Rahman, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Ashwin, Kishore and others are acting.

Mani Ratnam and Kumaravel have written the screenplay of the film. Lyrics – Jayamohan, Music – A.R. Rahman, Cinematography – Ravi Varman, Art – Thota Dharani. The film is slated to release on September 30. Meanwhile, the teaser of the film was released yesterday in 5 languages including Tamil.
