Program No. 49 in the Techtime podcast, with Tomer Magal from Optimizer, about the revolution that neural networks and Anvidia processors in the field of artificial intelligence have caused in the last decade
Moderator: Yochai Schweiger
Editor: Roni Lifshitz
Opening melody: Nir Sadeh
The guest on the program is Tomer Gal, founder and CEO of Optimizer (OpTeamizer), which provides development and consulting services in the field of AI and is certified as an official partner of the graphics processor manufacturer Anvidia in Israel.
2012 is considered a key year in the development of artificial intelligence technologies, with the winning victory of the AlexNet algorithm in the ImageNet Image Recognition Challenge of Stanford University. AlexNet, developed by Alex Kryzewski, is a convoluted neural network (CNN), based on a number of GPU processors for parallel data processing. The efficiency and accuracy presented by AlexNet’s architecture in terms of image classification and recognition have given a huge boost to the entire field. Since then, neural networks have in theory become one of the most effective applications, driving systems in the automotive, medical, security and industrial worlds.
In the conversation, Tomer explains the developments in the field of neural networks, why Anvidia’s graphics processors are ideal for such applications, And why he is constantly re-surprised by what artificial intelligence is capable of doing.
