The Asus Zenfone 9 will come with a touchpad on the side and a carrying case on the shoulder

Asus will soon announce its next flagship device, the ZenFone 9, and it seems that someone on the company’s marketing team could not wait and accidentally posted on the company’s official YouTube channel a video revealing most of the innovations. There are quite a few of these – it seems that this time, Asus’ intention was to introduce a surprising device, with a number of gimmicks that have not yet been seen in the industry.

One such is a unique button on the side of the device, which combines a fingerprint scanner with a touchpad that allows you to scroll through web pages and applications, similar to a mouse wheel. Also on the list of gimmicks: a completely unique carrying case, which allows the device to be placed on the shoulder – similar to the cases of large and heavy video cameras. The goal seems to be to make the device camera available at all times, and especially for extreme sports documentation. In the video you can also see the official protective case, which in addition to a tough look also serves as a wallet or stand for placing the device on a table while watching a video.

The rest of the specs are less innovative, but still impressive. The device is based on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, with up to 16 GB of working memory and 256 GB of file storage. The screen will come in a size of 5.9 inches, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The rear camera system will receive a “huge” upgrade to ensure the company, with a Sony main sensor with a photo resolution of 50 megapixels and a unique optical stabilizer. Also in the specification – a battery with a capacity of 4,300 mAh, moisture resistance in the IP68 standard, and a standard headphone input (3.5 mm).

The Zenfone 9 is expected to be significantly more expensive than its predecessors, with a price tag of around 800 euros. It will arrive in red, black and blue, with the official announcement likely to take place over the next few weeks.
