A Mysuru-based Vasudevan has filed a case in the Madras High Court claiming that he is the son of the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s father Jayaram from his first wife and demanding half share of Jayalalithaa’s assets.

In the petition filed by Vasudevan, an 83-year-old man from Vyasarapuram in Mysuru, Karnataka, claiming to be Jayalalithaa’s brother who was the late AIADMK General Secretary and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa’s father R. Jayaram has also been mentioned as his father. She has stated in the petition that her father Jayaram’s first wife is J. Jayamma and she is their only heir.

It has been mentioned in the petition that Jayakumar and Jayalalitha were born only by marrying Vedavalli alias Vedamma, who was married secondly by father Jayaram. In that way, Jayalalitha and Jayakumar are my brothers and sisters, and in 1950, when his mother Jayamma filed a case in the Mysore court for alimony, her father’s second wife Vedavalli, Jayakumar and Jayalalitha were included as respondents in that case.

Later on. The case ended in settlement. Jayakumar died before Jayalalithaa died. So today I am Jayalalitha’s direct successor as a brother. Therefore, he has requested in the petition that 50 percent of Jayalalithaa’s assets should be given and that only J. Deepak and J. Deepak should be amended in the judgment issued by the Madras High Court in 2020.

While Amrutha had sued the same Karnataka state as the daughter of actor Shobanbabu and Jayalalitha, the High Court dismissed the case in 2018 as a false case, but now a new case has been filed demanding a share in Jayalalithaa’s assets.
