Puducherry: Leaflets were distributed from house to house on behalf of Uzhavarkarai Municipality urging to avoid plastic products in Kurinji. On behalf of Uzhavargari Municipality and Charon Society of Pondicherry, Amuda Festival was celebrated on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. Tree maintenance and special cleaning work was done in Kurinji Nagar Park Complex in Laspet.
In Kurinji Nagar, awareness was created by distributing leaflets from house to house to avoid banned single use plastic products. Vaidyanathan MLA started the work of distributing awareness leaflets. Sapling planting was done by Vaidyanathan MLA. Health Officer Jaishankar inaugurated the event. Various organizations including Kurinji Nagar Residents’ Welfare Association participated in the event.
