The French are called upon to adapt their behavior to the evolution of the epidemic.
As a hyphen with the previous legislature, the first text of the five-year term discussed by the National Assembly on Monday will relate to the management of the Covid-19 epidemic. Yet another reminder that the virus has not disappeared despite the weariness it causes, more than two years after its appearance.
The bar of 150,000 deaths was reached on Friday in France, where the number of positive cases is starting to soar again (120,000 per day on average). “We could observe a peak higher than that of April”said in the JDD epidemiologist Arnaud Fontanet. A member of the Scientific Council, he however observed this week a rate of positivity of the tests which is slowing down, in particular in Île-de-France. “Reassuring news because it would validate the idea that there is no longer any risk of hospital saturation, even in the absence of epidemic control measures”he noted.
