Kochi: Film director KN Sasidharan passed away. He was 72 years old. He passed away on Monday morning at his residence in Edappally due to a heart attack. He did not wake up after the usual time and found him dead. The doctor confirmed the death. The funeral is this evening. He has also done many commercials.

He is a native of Thrissur Guruvayoor. KN Sasidharan, who graduated from the Pune Film Institute, made his first film of the same name in 1984, based on PK Nandanavarma’s novel Akkare. Sasidharan also wrote the screenplay and dialogues of the film. Starring Bharat Gopi and Madhavi in ​​lead roles, this film also featured Nedumudi Venu, Mammootty, Mohanlal etc. The film tells the story of a tehsildar who is subjected to a greedy wife. In 1984, the impact of Gulf money on the Malayalis can be seen in the film. The focus of the film is on the society that looks at the Gulf people with envy and bewilderment. It was a highly acclaimed film.

The last feature film was Nayana in 2014 starring Anupam Kher, Baby Anikha and others. In 1985, he also directed the film Vanathaya Nadeshika.

Initially he focused on film direction but later turned to commercials. Among the commercials directed by KN Sasidharan, Vanamala soap is the most famous.
