The most serious event took place on Saturday July 9 in Foz do Iguaçu, in the state of Paraná, in the south of the country. Marcelo de Arruda, municipal guardian and militant of the Workers’ Party (PT, left), celebrated his birthday in an associative room, with a decoration paying tribute to the political formation and to its historical leader, the former head of state Lula [2003-2010]candidate for the next presidential election, explains the newspaper in another article.

During the evening, a prison guard, a supporter of President Jair Bolsonaro, stopped by car and uttered threats, a weapon in hand, promising to return. About 20 minutes later, the man burst into the room and shot the municipal guard, who, in turn, hit him with his own weapon. Injured, the supporter of the Brazilian president is hospitalized in stable condition. The left-wing activist did not survive.
