Officials said: 68 people died due to the heavy rains that fell on Monday in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Sindh provinces. Of these, 63 are from Balochistan province including Quetta, Pahan, Biskin, Golu, Bolan.

5 died in Karachi, capital of Sindh province. Incessant rain in Karachi led to flooding in many areas. He said that power supply was cut off in many places.

Balochistan Provincial Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah said, ‘The reason for this high death toll is that the houses were built on the natural waterway.’

More than 50 people were injured in the floods and debris. Heavy rains are likely to occur in Karachi and other areas on July 18-19 as well, the Meteorological Department has warned.
