Supermassive Games has been acquired by Nordisk Games – – Gamereactor

Copenhagen-based game publisher Nordisk Games has announced that it has acquired 100% ownership of British developer Supermassive Games. Known for its highly narrative titles such as The Dark Pictures Anthology and more recently The Quarry, Supermassive will be the third fully-owned studio in Nordisk’s portfolio.

The deal comes more than a year after Nord initially bought a 30.7% stake in Supermassive in March 2021. Speaking about the acquisition, Supermassive Games CEO Pete Samuels said:

“It wasn’t a difficult decision when Nordisk Games wanted to explore increasing investment over the past year. We have an exciting and ambitious growth strategy for Supermassive Games, and Nordisk Games’ ownership is only will enhance that. I’m very excited about the security that this partnership provides and the next steps that continue to take with Nordisk Games’ in-house expertise.

Mikkel Weider, CEO of Nord Games, then added: “By acquiring 100% of the studio, we will be able to increase our support for the team and, most importantly, continue our excellent working relationship with them.

No details of the acquisition were mentioned.
