After the headphones that caused a stir around the world, and became very popular, Nothing tonight (Monday) unveiled the Phone (1), its first smartphone. The waiting list for its purchase stands at over 200,000 pre-orders, and bids of more than $ 3,000 for the first hundred units.
The device, available in black and white, including an interface called Glyph, is a new way of communicating to help minimize screen time. As mentioned, these are unique lighting patterns, consisting of 900 LEDs, which indicate who is calling and signaling app notifications, charging status and more.
The interface can be activated by matching individual contacts to the ringtone, each with a unique pattern. Alongside this adjustment, for quieter focus, the Flip to Glyph feature activates silent alerts for lights only by placing Phone (1) with the Glyph interface facing up.
The device features a transparent back with a unique design, consisting of more than 400 components. The 100% recycled aluminum frame makes it lightweight and strong, while over 50% of the phone’s plastic components are made from recycled materials – an industry-leading percentage. It is also equipped with a 6.55-inch screen, which is equipped with a screen protector. Alongside these, Gorilla® Glass 5 double-sided glass provides rigidity, while advanced vibration motors make touch responses realistic. The symmetrical edges and aluminum frame add elegance, lightness and durability.
The device supports its Android operating system, when the company developed a special version, which allows, among other things, control of additional products through the device’s settings, without the need for additional applications. Among other things, a number of operations can be performed on Tesla vehicles (unlock the doors, turn on air conditioning, see remaining emails and more).
The device’s hardware and software speak in one visual language, with widgets, fonts, sounds and custom wallpapers, all designed exclusively, and at the same time you can view the NFT collections (if you have any) and track their prices – directly from the device’s home screen. Also, the Phone (1) learns the user, so your most common ones charge extremely fast, while the rest will be frozen to save battery.
Advanced photography set and powerful performance
The device features a dual camera with two advanced 50-megapixel sensors, with the main camera powered by the flagship Sony IMX766. Smart features like night mode and scene recognition adjust the settings for each fry, and at the same time the Glyph interface can be set to full brightness and extend close-up subjects in subtle light – this is a portable ring light, without flash.
Phone (1) is equipped with the powerful and reliable Qualcomm® Snapdragon ™ 778G + chipset, customized for Nothing including wireless and reverse charging. Phenomenal graphics and advanced camera features, all accelerated by 5G. Game mode accurately matches the sound to the graphics and reduces alerts.
Phone (1) by Nothing (Photo: PR)It supports fast and wireless charging, while the battery (with a capacity of 4,500 amps) will provide, according to the company, 18 hours of use on each charge, and two days on standby. 30 minutes in the charger will suffice to charge 50 percent of the battery, when various accessories can be charged, including the Nothing Ear headphones (1) with a reverse charge of 5W. The Glyph charging coil even turns on to indicate that a reverse charge is occurring.
The device, which is available in black and white, is available for pre-purchase in the Bug network, and in partner networks and electrical storage, at a cost of NIS 1,990 for the model with 8GB / 256GB memory and additional models will be available at the end of the summer.
