Ex-party leader Gregor Gysi (73) has sharply criticized the left.
Gysi confirmed that his party had given a confused picture before the election, for example regarding the inconsistent voting behavior on Afghanistan.
“You don’t even know what the party stands for,” he said on Deutschlandfunk.
The left had only achieved 4.9 percent in the federal election and only managed to get into parliament thanks to three direct mandates (including von Gysi).
