Delhi: The booster dose of the covid vaccine has been made free. Free vaccine will be given to everyone above the age of 18. It will start from Friday. The free distribution will be for 75 days only. 18 to 59 year olds will be vaccinated during this period. This is why most people are reluctant to take booster doses.

The backup dose of the covid vaccine was started in the month of April for all adults. Reserve doses are paid at private centers for those between eighteen and fifty-nine. The price of the vaccine is Rs 225 per dose. A maximum of Rs 150 can be charged as service charge. After exactly three months, if we look at the vaccine figures in the states and Union Territories, the reluctance among the population towards the precautionary dose is clear.
In Lakshadweep, no one between the ages of 18 and 19 has received the reserve dose, and supply of the reserve dose is stagnant across the northeastern states. In Manipur – 12, Arunachal Pradesh 106, Meghalaya 591, Mizoram 447, Nagaland 639, Sikkim 988, Tripura 308 and everywhere the figure is less than a thousand. In Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh and Puducherry, less than 10,000 people received the reserve dose.
