by time news

Tragedy at the back of the mountain: Last Monday, Yakrat Handler, a resident of Yitzhar, found her husband Elkana, lying in his bed after apparently having a heart attack. Elkana, 21, is being treated at Beilinson Hospital in an unstable condition. For the past two days, the young man has been treated at the hospital when his condition is defined as critical, but today (Wednesday) the doctors were forced to determine his death.

Elkana was the son of Rabbi Eliyahu Aryeh Handler, who founded the Hesder Yeshiva in Ramla in 1959, and now heads it. At the girls’ seminary at Bar Ilan University and a tour guide to Poland, Elkana’s funeral was held today in Ramla, leaving him a son, a wife, parents and nine siblings.
