People’s Justice Center has strongly condemned the act of denying MPs’ right to speak.
In a statement issued by Makkal Neeti Maiyam President Kamal Haasan, the Secretary of the Lok Sabha has issued a notification listing the words corruption, drama, incompetent, anarchist, dictatorial, shameless, betrayed, mouthpiece, destructive power, dictator as prohibited words in both houses of Parliament.
If these words are used by MPs, it is also recommended that they be removed from the index. This act against free speech will crush the voice of democracy. To leave no room for fault-pointing or criticism would make a mockery of the Republic and the Constitution.
It is dangerous to assume that no one should speak against the Prime Minister and Ministers. Is the monarchy going on listening only to praises? Is there no one to point out the fate of the ‘Emera king who has no ruins’ to the Prime Minister who is talking about Valluvar? This is not Germany to become Hitler!”
