Makkah | The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that the Umrah season will start from Muharram 1 (July 30), the beginning of the Hijri year. Umrah online booking will start from July 19 (Twenty of Dhul Hijjah). Currently, only those who have performed Hajj this year are allowed to perform Umrah pilgrimage. The restriction was imposed to avoid heavy crowding in Makkah’s Masjid-ul-Haram and to allow pilgrims to perform Umrah comfortably.
Those from foreign countries should apply for Umrah through Ministry of Hajj-Umrah website https://haj.gov.sa/ar/InternalPages/Umrah and domestic pilgrims through “Ihtamarna” application, as part of covid-19 preventive measures, foreign nationals should submit vaccine certificate approved by Saudi Ministry of Health online. Must submit.Umrah visas are granted to persons above five years of age. The ministry informed that Umrah visas and packages will be available online for foreign nationals and procedures are being adopted to enable Umrah activities to be performed easily in the new year keeping in mind the safety and health of pilgrims and visitors.
