Kunnar: Durian fruits were auctioned for 3.14 lakhs to private individuals in Kunnar Parliar. The season of medicinal durian and mangosteen fruits has started at Kallar government horticulture farm near Kunnar Parliar. In last week’s auction for mangosteen fruit at Kallar farm, bid was taken for 2.50 lakh rupees.
Yesterday, the auction for Barliar Farm was held in the presence of Assistant Director (D) Sibila Mary at the Kunnar Simspunga office. In it, one Nagaraj bid for 2.70 lakh rupees to harvest mangosteen. For the durian auction, when 3.75 lakhs was set, in the open tender, Nagaraj bid again for 3.14 lakhs. By this, last time, horticulture got an income of 10 lakhs 70 thousand 100 rupees, now the auction has gone for 8.34 lakh rupees. Officials said, ‘Next time Direct sale of durian and mangosteen in Parliar will be discussed,’ they said.
