Serious attack by a Chabad follower in the heart of the Crown Heights neighborhood: Last night, in the late afternoon (New York time), Yosef Hershkop, a Chabad follower and community activist in the Crown Heights neighborhood, was severely beaten.
The serious attack, which was recorded on security cameras, occurred after Hershkop’s car hit the beating car, on Montgomery Street in the center of the neighborhood, while trying to park his vehicle.
The occupants of the vehicle demanded payment for the damage they claimed was caused to the vehicle. At the same time, the thugs began beating Hershkop. They wounded him in the face and beat him vigorously, while his 5-year-old little son was in the vehicle watching what was happening.
The attacked devotee is taken to the hospital for medical treatment, by ‘rescue’ paramedics who quickly arrived at the scene.
This morning (Thursday) Hershkop was released from the hospital. According to his acquaintances, he suffers from pain in the face and mouth area and is still required to be under medical supervision. New York police have begun investigating the case and are looking for the vehicle visible on security cameras.
