He became a doctor in the Air Force in 1993. He was a medical officer in Jodhpur and Gwalior. He completed specialization in surgery in 2000 and super specialization in plastic surgery in 2008 from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.

Military life of challenges

“As a plastic surgeon at Jerat Air Force Hospital in Assam, he treated many soldiers who lost their limbs due to landmine blasts in the northeast region. The mission was to enable them to continue service or to return them to normal life.

Military award for service

In 2018, while he was the commanding officer at the Gorakhpur hospital, a soldier who sustained a head injury in a car accident was saved by neurosurgery. He practiced neurosurgery at Kochi Medical Trust Hospital. It was matured with that experience. Once a naval ship from the Philippines reached Kochi, the engine caught fire and the sailor suffered severe burns. After three months of treatment, the authorities considered it a proud achievement for the country.

Now the service is in the hometown

After retirement, 59-year-old Dr. Paul’s service. Munnilav is the daughter of late KT Joseph and Elikutty. Her husband, retired Group Captain Babu Joseph, was an engineer in the Air Force. Daughters Diana and Divya are MBBS. Completed M.D. Preparing for study.
