Moscow: Five-time tennis Grand Slam winner and former world number one Maria Sharapova of Russia has given birth to a baby boy. The baby is named Theodore.
Sharapova’s partner is British businessman Alexander Gilkis. Both of them got engaged in December 2020. Theodore is their first child.
Sharapova herself announced the birth of the baby to the world with the title ‘The most beautiful gift to our little family’.
One of the greatest female players in tennis history, Sharapova is also one of only ten women in the world to have won four different Grand Slam titles.
Sharapova is a star who shocked everyone by winning the Wimbledon title as a teenager. The actor made his debut at Wimbledon in 2004. Later, he won the US Open in 2006, the Australian Open in 2008, and the French Open in 2012 and 2014. Sharapova also won a silver medal for the country at the 2012 London Olympics. In the final, Serena Williams of America won the gold by defeating the player.
