31 killed in tribal clashes in Sudan – Dinamani

At least 31 people were killed and 39 injured after 16 shops were looted in clashes between tribes in Sudan’s Blue Nile state on Friday, the state government said.

The northeast African country of Sudan has been in conflict between tribes since 2003.

In this regard, the State Security Committee has said in a statement:
A curfew was imposed in Al-Damasin and Al-Russairs areas from 6pm to 6am local time.

Meanwhile, violent clashes broke out on Friday between the Berdi and Hausa tribes, local residents and eyewitnesses said.

Regular security forces reached the spot after getting the information and intervened and brought the situation under control. Some of the suspects have been arrested and are being investigated and necessary security measures have been taken.

It is reported that 16 shops were looted, 31 people died and 39 were injured in this clash between the tribes.

Sudan has been experiencing a political crisis since Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, commander of the Sudanese armed forces, declared a state of emergency on 25 October 2021 and dissolved the government.
