Strengthen the EU sanctions against Russia for the war in Ukraine, increase their effectiveness in the implementation phase and extend them until January 2023. These are the proposals arrived from the European Commission. The package, which will now be discussed with the Council in view of its adoption, also provides for a halt to the import of Russian gold.
