India vs England 3rd Odi: Virat Kohli’s cricketing career was once all about scoring hundreds and breaking records. The former Indian captain, hailed as the ‘Run Machine’, has a great chance to equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 international centuries. But Kohli has struggled to score runs in the last three years. On November 23, 2019, Kohli scored his last century in international cricket. He scored 136 runs against Bangladesh in the historic Pink Ball Test at Kolkata. Since then, Kohli has scored only 2537 runs across the three formats, scoring 24 fifties.

He played a total of 77 innings, conceding just 16 runs in the second ODI against England. Expectations are high that Kohli will score a century in the third and final ODI in Manchester. If Kohli fails to score a century in today’s match, he will reach the milestone of 1000 days without a century. Kohli has retired from India’s next tour of the West Indies. The tour, which will consist of five T20Is and three ODIs, will begin on July 22 and end on August 8. India will only play the Asia Cup after that, the team and dates of which are yet to be decided.
Kohli has previously played three ODIs at this venue. He has scored 150 runs in three innings with 77, 72 and 1, all during the 2019 World Cup. Now there are reports that Kohli is going to retire from cricket after the third ODI against England till the Asia Cup and spend time with his family. While former Indian cricketers spoke against Kohli, Ganguly and Rohit Sharma spoke in support.
